Constant Contact is looking for a smart, creative and energetic Senior Database Developer to join our Database Services Team. The successful candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of programming and data modeling as well as strong leadership and communication skills. This role requires the person have a strong penchant for development and experience designing large scale, high transaction databases.

Responsibilities Include

Works with the development teams in refining the conceptual system design into an optimal physical database design.
Database performance tuning through database physical design, configuration, indexing and related settings. Responsible for query performance optimization and tuning.
Provides database-related technical expertise to the development team(s).
Carry out development database builds and manage transition to staging/production with the Production DBA team
Works with the development team(s) to optimize SQL statements.
Responsible for continuous improvement efforts through performance enhancements.
Maintain database security in the development and test environments.
Provide disk capacity estimates and database physical design information.
Monitor resources including CPU usage and space utilization in the development and test environments.
Perform database monitoring, problem determination and performance analysis in the development and test environments
Support data replication operations in the development and test environments

Requirements

At least 3 years of advanced experience as an application DBA in a multiple DBMS environment. Experience in DB2 is optional but preferred.
Strong leadership and verbal/written communication skills
Experience working with large scale, high transaction production database environments.
Experience programming with Java is optional but preferred.
Excellent knowledge of SQL, SQL tuning concepts, data modeling, and other Development DBA skills.
Familiarity with complex RDBMS implementations (e.g. replication, high availability, clustering, disaster recovery, snapshots).
Experience working on Solaris, Linux and Windows.
