Steve Robinson, Constant Contact's Illinois regional development director, helps area small businesses learn how to market for a strong holiday season
Chicago, IL. - November 27, 2007
Despite some concerns over the economic climate for the upcoming holiday season, Illinois small business owners remain optimistic, according to Constant Contact's 3rd Annual 2007 Small Business Holiday Outlook* survey. The survey showed that 74 percent of Illinois-based small business owners have some apprehension about sales this holiday season, in part due to competition from large retailers (39 percent). Yet, 57 percent are anticipating strong holiday sales. Constant Contact®, Inc. (NasdaqGM: CTCT) is a leading provider of email marketing and online surveys for small organizations.
Illinois-based small business owners' confidence in this year's upcoming holiday sales season is supported by their planned use of email marketing. According to the survey, 44 percent of respondents will use email marketing to promote their holiday season offerings, compared to 17 percent who will turn to direct mail and 23 percent who will use advertising. Surveyed business owners noted that email marketing has the greatest impact on driving holiday sales (33 percent).
Seventy-five percent of Illinois small business owners indicated that the December holiday sales activity is important to their yearly earnings and Steve Robinson, a veteran marketing specialist, is committed to helping them succeed during this important time of year. To do this, Robinson offers year-round email marketing seminars that provide all types of small business owners and organizations with practical tips and advice on how to grow their businesses and organizations, not only during the busy holiday season, but throughout the year.
"December sales are especially important for small businesses, which are dependant on holiday earnings to meet annual sales targets," said Robinson. "We strive to help all types of small businesses succeed by offering local seminars with tips on how to use email marketing, a fast and affordable way to drive sales and build strong customer relationships during the holiday season and beyond."
Susan Schlink a Tastefully Simple independent consultant in Chicago can attest to the effectiveness of using email marketing around the holiday season. "The holiday season is always a mad rush for me - my parties center around eating so I get over 75 percent of my business around this time of the year," said Schlink. "My email newsletters really help my customers remember 'me' and 'my' name when it comes time for holiday shopping; I get a significant amount of repeat business as a result."
Robinson is hosting several upcoming seminars that provide small businesses and organizations practical and affordable techniques to help them achieve results. These seminars include:
