My client has 1250 addresses/contact but only 400 people open the mail, I read and explore all ways to get them more visibility and opens but it doesnt seem to be working, would dividing up the mailing list be better...
Segmenting and Targeting

Hi Michelle. Thanks for the post.

Dividing the list and sending more targeted messages can improve your click-throughs. And if you write a different subject line for each of your segments, based on what information would be more interesting to them, that could improve your open rates.

Great Ideas!
I'm always looking for new attention-getting subject lines. I, for one, have a separate email for online purchases and "junk" email that I may actually have subscribed to. I know from experience that I only open an email that really gets my attention! I want clients to open my emails when something really exciting is happening! I think just finding some consise, but attention-getting subjects are the key. Thank you! Thanks

Thanks for making that point Carrie. You're right about using attention-getters in your subject lines to help improve your open rates. I'll certainly touch on that topic in a future blog.
