Isabel Clark is all about helping people make healthy choices. Through her business, Clark Wellness, Isabel offers individual holistic health counseling, group wellness workshops, cooking classes, and corporate workshops. Isabel started the business in 2005 with the goal of helping women and men achieve balanced wellness in their lives by making positive food and lifestyle choices.
Isabel needed an easy and affordable way to get the word out about important issues that affect her clients and potential clients' health and well-being. She learned about Constant Contact from another practitioner.

Isabel uses Constant Contact to send her list members information that she believes can be useful in their everyday lives. "I send a monthly newsletter, Clark Wellness ForkBytes. It includes health and nutrition articles, recipes, event notices, and special offers. I also send occasional upcoming event announcements. For my current clients, I use Constant Contact to send a weekly recipe."
Isabel sends campaigns four to six times per month, and accesses her account several times per week to check reports, add new subscribers, and create new campaigns. She sees email marketing as way to remind her potential clients that she is available for them when they are ready to contact her. In the meantime, she provides them with information that can help them better understand holistic health and how it can benefit them.
"The holistic health field is exploding in all different directions. There are extremely confusing and conflicting messages about nutrition in particular. Presenting a clear and consistent message effectively is probably the biggest challenge, and email communication helps me to do just that."
Running a business is enough to keep Isabel busy. She enjoys the fact that she doesn't have to spend much time managing her email list. "I love that the hard part of list management is handled for me, so I don't have to deal with it! I also like the fact that I can't be accused of spamming my list members. If I were handling the data myself, I would be concerned about accidentally continuing to email someone who had tried to opt out. With Constant Contact, I don't have to worry about any of that, so I can focus on writing great articles for my newsletter."
Isabel's list is currently up to 276 subscribers. "I was amazed at how quickly my list grew. I started off with fewer than 15 subscribers. The list took on a life of its own!"
The cost of email marketing makes it practical for Isabel's business. As she says, "It is cheaper than print advertising." And the customer support she's received has added to her already positive experience. "The customer service has been fantastic, answering my questions in a very timely manner and just generally taking great care of me."
Email marketing simplifies Isabel's life and gives her the time she needs to focus on her clients and events. Her email communication is well-received and clearly is providing valuable information to those on her list as is seen by her above-average open rates of 60-65%.
