Constant Contact has a no-tolerance spam policy and invests significant resources in the enforcement of this policy. We only allow customers who comply with consent-based list collection methods to use our services. If it is determined a Constant Contact customer is in violation of this policy, their Constant Contact services are subject to immediate termination.

Here's how Constant Contact protects you from sending spam:

Constant Contact is a consent-based email marketing tool that follows the strictest permission-based philosophies:

  • Contact Information — All of your emails are pre-filled with your contact information including your physical address which is required by law (the CAN-Spam Act).

  • Unsubscribe — Every email generated from Constant Contact contains an unsubscribe link, as required by law, which allows your contacts to opt-out of future emails and automatically updates your contact lists so you can avoid sending unwanted emails to those who have unsubscribed.

  • Identification — Your email header information is always correct because it is pre-set for you by Constant Contact. Your email's "From" address is verified and already accurately identifies you as the sender.

  • Communication — The Constant Contact sign-up page your contacts complete when joining your list states why you are collecting the site visitor's email address, how you plan to use their address, and that you are following the embedded privacy policy. Additionally, by accepting our license agreement you have agreed to use only consent-based lists (no purchased or 3rd party lists allowed).

  • Verification — Constant Contact automatically sends all of your new contacts an email confirming that they joined your list.

  • Choices — Constant Contact allows you to send both HTML and text based emails.

  • ISP and Blacklist Relations: Constant Contact has standing relationships and ongoing dialogues with many of the leading ISPs and Blacklists. These include the sharing of information regarding policies, practices and issues.   • Email Marketing Pledge: We agree to uphold a strong, affirmative consent model, and support and enforce the terms of the Email Marketing Pledge, the guidelines established by the IAB (Interactive Advertising Bureau), NAI Email Sender Provider Coalition (ESPC) and TRUSTe.

  • Industry Anti-spam Initiatives:Constant Contact a founding member (and on the steering committee) of The Email Sender Provider Coalition (ESPC), formed by the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) to provide unique and effective spam-fighting solutions. Constant Contact's CTO is the co-author of the Project Lumos whitepaper which details technical specifications and requirements necessary for the development of a robust system designed to eradicate spam by providing ISPs and others with a means of securely identifying and authenticating email senders.
