What Email Marketing add-ons does Constant Contact offer?

Constant Contact offers you two add-ons to enhance your Email Marketing efforts:

  1. Premium Image Hosting
    Every Constant Contact account includes Standard Image Hosting — 5 images, hosted free. When you upgrade to Premium Image Hosting, you can upload, store, manage, and resize over 1,200 images — for only $5/month (for lists under 50,000 contacts). Simply log in to your account and click on the "Images" tab.
  2. Email Archive
    With Email Archive you can instantly transform your sent email newsletters and promotions into easy-to-view web pages. And you can easily showcase your archived emails on your website with an archive homepage you create. When you become a paying Email Marketing customer, you can add Email Archive for just $5 a month. Simply log in to your account and click on "Email Archive" located under the "Email Marketing" tab.

Do I have to sign a contract?

Absolutely not. You are under no obligation when signing up for our free trial other than consenting to the license agreement.

Do I have to commit for a certain period of time?

Absolutely not. You are not obligated to commit for any period of time. You can cancel your account at any time.

If I don't send out any email campaigns or collect any survey responses in any given month, do I still have to pay the monthly fee?

Yes, all customers are billed the set monthly fee, regardless of the amount of email sent or surveys distributed. Please keep in mind, even if you are not sending out any campaigns or distributing surveys during a particular month, Constant Contact continues to host your lists and images, allow new sign-ups, maintain your opt-outs, and record reporting results.

Billing

How is the monthly fee determined?

Your First Charge — When you sign up to pay for Constant Contact, your first charge is based on the number of unique email addresses you have in your account or number of survey responses collected.

Your Monthly Charge — Each month on your billing date, you are charged in advance based upon the highest number of unique email addresses (subscribers) you had in your account during the previous month.

Does my billing date change if I add a second product to my account?

Yes. Your new billing date will change to the date you add the second product to your account.

Does my credit card get billed right away?

There is no credit card required to sign up and take advantage of the free 60-day trial. However, once your free trial has expired, (60 days elapse, your list size exceeds the trial limit of 100 email addresses* or you receive more than 250 survey responses), you will be invited to pay for the product. At this time, the first charge is based on the number of unique email addresses in your account or survey responses collected.

Note: Email address limit does not apply if you are a paying Email Marketing customer in a survey trial.

Isn't this more expensive than downloading software?

The Free 60-Day Trial allows you to interact with our full feature set, providing a true product experience. You have access to all the features and support of a paid product, including:

  • Creating and Sending email marketing communications
  • Tracking and Reporting features such as clicks & open rate
  • Bounce, Opt-in and Opt-out management
  • Listing Building, Gift Reminder and Send Page to a Friend features
  • Free email marketing webinars and Campaign Companion coaching emails

The only request we have is that you keep your trial mailing list to under 100 contacts. For survey trials you can view up to 250 survey responses. If your list stays under 100 contacts, you will simply be notified by email when your 60-day trial is about to expire.

Discounts

What are the pre-pay discounts?

The pre-payment options provide discounts on the standard pricing. You can pre-pay at 15% off (12 months at your current level), or pre-pay at 10% off (6 months at your current level). If you do decide to choose a pre-payment plan, you have the option of paying by check or credit card. We accept American Express, Visa, Mastercard, and Discover.

What are the non-profit discounts?

The prices are based on the number of email addresses in your account. The standard discounts that we offer are 10% for 6 months and 15% for a full year. However, if you forward your 501 (c) (3) or equivalent nonprofit documentation, you are eligible for a 20% (6 months) or 30% (annual) discount.

Is there a discount if I buy both Email Marketing and Survey?

Yes, there is a substantial savings for adding a second product to your account—you receive 50% off the second product. For example, as a Tier 1 customer, you will pay $15 month for Email Marketing only or $15 month for Survey only. When you elect to purchase both products you'll pay $22.50 a month instead of $30— that's a $7.50/month savings. See pricing for more details.

What's included in the "FREE" trial?

How can I sign up for a paying account, and bypass the free 60-day trial with the 100 email address or survey response limit?

In order to create a paying account, you will first need to sign up for a trial, and then enter your credit card information by clicking on "My Account." If you are already in trial or are paying for one product, you will need to log into your Constant Contact and then click the "Buy Now" link under the Email Marketing or Survey tab.

PLEASE NOTE: The 100 email addresses limit is not applicable if you are a current paying Email Marketing customer.

Can I start an Email Marketing FREE 60-Day Trial and FREE Survey 60-Day Trial at the same time?

When you signup for a trial, we suggest trying one product at a time. A single product trial will allow you to quickly appreciate the features and benefits of your chosen product.

As soon as you are ready, a full 60-day trial of a second product can be started by clicking on the 'my account' link after you login to your account.

List Size/Survey Response Limit

I have nearly one million email addresses; can your service handle it?

Yes. We already have customers with email lists in excess of one million names. However, we are strict about our permission policies and will need to understand more about your list before you are allowed to mail. We do not allow rented or purchased lists to be used with the Constant Contact service. Please read our ANTI-SPAM policy for more details. Call our Communication Consultants toll-free at 1-866-876-8464 so that we can determine the best pricing for you based on your email list size and mailing frequency.

What happens if my contact list size goes up and down?

We will adjust your monthly bill according to the size of your email list. Pricing is based upon the greatest number of unique email addresses (contacts or Survey responses) in your Constant Contact account during the previous billing period. This means if your list size changes (increasing or decreasing over time) your pricing will automatically reflect this change.

Is there a survey response limit?

Yes. Survey response limit is based on your contact list size range. For example, 500 is your survey response limit for pricing Tier 1 (0– 500 list size range); 2,500 for pricing Tier 2; 5,000 for pricing Tier 3; 10,000 for pricing Tier 4; 25,000 for pricing Tier 5. While in your 60-day free trial, you must keep your contact list to under 100 email addresses and / or 250 survey responses*.

* The 100 email addresses limit is not applicable if you are a current paying Email Marketing customer. At the end of your free trial, your surveys are still active, and additional responses are stored and available when you purchase the survey product.

Do I get charged if I go over my monthly survey response limit?

Yes. Your monthly survey response limit is based on your contact list size. You will be charged an overage fee of $0.05 cents per survey response over your limit.(e.g. 100 responses over limit is $5.00)

How does the free "list building tool" (sign-up box) work?

When you signup for your free trial and log into your account, there is a tab called "My Settings." When you click on that tab, you will see a Site Visitor Signup option. We provide the code necessary to put it on your website so you can capture email addresses from visitors to your website. Then, you can customize your site visitor sign-up form.

Important! After your 60-day trial period, you can continue to use the list-building tool for FREE! Once you decide to send email communications or distribute a survey, we will invite you to start paying for the product.

How does Constant Contact manage my opt-ins and opt-outs?

During the free trial and as part of your monthly product fee, Constant Contact manages your opt-ins and opt-outs 24/7.

An opt-in occurs when someone visits your website and submits their email address through your Constant Contact Sign-Up Box. As part of our service, we automatically collect and store this information into your Constant Contact account.

An opt-out occurs when a contact clicks the SafeUnsubscribe® link in one of your email campaigns or survey invitations to unsubscribe from your list. These subscribers will be automatically managed and removed from your list.
